Don't you love that "Product may vary" what it should say is "Product will vary and will never, never look as good as the photo" _________________ Hmmmmmmmmm.... |

Well the story so far is this..
I have the basic structures for the lower jaw as you have all seen, the upper front head section is nearly complete,I just need to add "cheeks" and do a bit of jiggery pokery here an' there.
Before I can go any further though I need to complete the tongue, which incedently is nearly done,I've made the tongue proper and just need to give it another day to fully cure before I can add the teeth(also complete), then I have to decide on a number of options, open mouth protuding tongue, partialy open mouth, hint of tongue(My personal favourite)
or a hinged jaw with move in and out tongue...
Anyway when thats done I can then conentrate on how the hell I'm going to do the rest of the head,I'm still thinking of using expanding foam..... _________________ Hmmmmmmmmm.... |

So I'm going to put this pic up of the unfinished tongue just so you can see the working progress,it's a cardboard tube with wire wrapped around for the ribbing, several paint brush handles and acrylic filler, teeth are milliput...
when these items are added together and painted they should look pretty good,I'm pleased with this bit _________________ Hmmmmmmmmm.... |

Yeah I've studied very closely all the working pics of the head, and I did consider using vacuum hose, but, you'd be surprized at how difficult it is to find discarded hoses when you need them, they seem to turn up two a penny when you don't want them!
A friend of mine who works as an engineer in the RAF ia getting me some great ribbed tubing of various thicknesses and yes it is definately shower hose piping or lamp flex.
Didn't Giger also say that he used some parts from a Roll Royce!!
Still the tongue's done now and I feel a greater sense of satisfaction knowing that I made the entire thing myself _________________ Hmmmmmmmmm.... |

I would have so much fun torturing my dog with that thing. But, I'm a collector and playing with your collection is taboo, I guess. _________________ Let the circle be unbroken 'til the day. Amen.

Looking at the Grid Alien up there notice how much it is dummed down from the original, hardly any pipes and tubes etc, they no longer appear "Biomechanical" as a result, shame that
Still looks awesome tho'... _________________ Hmmmmmmmmm.... |
