On my full size Alien head.
I decided to start on the lower jaw as it appears to be the easiest? place to start.
I'm kinda experimenting at this stage to see if the methods I've decided to use will work.
What you can see in the pics are some teeth made from Milliput and sprayed with Plastikote Metallic silver spray, simple, further coats will be necessary for optimum results.
The lower jaw itself is a bit more complicated.I've used balsa wood for the overall structurea bit of good old papier mache, filler,PVA glue and a strip of leather for the "lip",as you can see it's unpainted and still in the early stages but i think it's going to work...

Looks really basic at the moment but you'll be suprized what a bit of paint can do Very Happy

Hmmm, what, exactly, do you mean by that statement "Looks like something I would have been working on years ago"?Are you infering, perhaps that what I have here is rubbish and looks amerturish(sp)
and by which are you saying that if you started something like this NOW it would be far better by this stage?Explain your self young man and if you've got any good tips on constructing this thing I'd appreciate it,..now where'd I put that shower hose...?

Here,s the jaw primed with the teeth set in....not much I can do with it now until the next phase which will be the upper head section.

I've decided to make the front upper section first, using either a plastic halloween skull or papier mache one, either way it will eventually go under the dome so detail is not paramount,I will then attempt to make the bulk of the elongated head using expanding foam as this is easy to carve, light weight and easy to stick things to,as always I'll you give updates as and when i have anything extra to show Very Happy
