The rating doesn't really bother me to be honest.
It doesn't have to be R to be suspenseful or scary. It's just the gore that gets left out, and that (the gore) doesn't really make or break a film.
I'll wait until I see it to pass judgement and it probably won't be influenced by the rating.

But that's just me...

You know, an R rating doesn't mean the same thing as it used to. Look at tons of old movies' ratings. If I remember correctly, PG-13 came about because people didn't think that Indiana Jones should be R rated, but it was still too gory for their standard as a PG. PG-13 was created to be the middle ground between those two. Alien for instance would be PG-13 by today's standards because it doesn't have enough language, violence, sex, or gore for an R rating. It's kinda like the difference between the 50's and the 80's.

i am probably in the target audience being 16, but i agree with you that this will be rubbish! there will be minimal blood, which for a film with predator in will rewin the film!!

the plot will be poor and everything will happen to fast with lots of action not suspense as the average teenager has the attention span of a nat im afraid to say these day

this should have been made an adult rating and there be graphic scenes to really shock and scare the audience, and be slowley paced to add suspense to what could have been an amazing movie!!!!

seeing as it is a pg-13 there will be next to none violence! wich means! im afraid to say! will moist likely be no visable chest bursting *cry* *cry*

i will still be going to see this film when it comes out but i will more than likely have my high expectations for this film dashed!!!!

You're condemning a movie because of such small details. I, too, am a rabid fan of both series. But I'm able to look past its faults because overall it was a fun film with lots of alien/predator action. You see the glass half empty when I see it half full, perhaps?

The advanced gestation period raised my brow and I almost got critical because it was kind of glaring, but then my meta-movie brain accepted it as neccessary for the plot line to advance, maybe that queen had been genetically altered so that all aliens grew fast. Fuck, I don't know, nor do I care. I just looked at it like a neccessary thing so the movie could work. Whatever.

The movie was good. For someone who loves the series so much, I don't understand why you would focus on inconsistancies and errors; why not let your love for these films guide your enjoyment? Wouldn't you be happier that way? I'm bummed that a serious fan can't allow himself to enjoy it. I wish you could've seen it with my friend and I, because our enthusiasm might've infected you and made you like it more.

hey flanders good to have you join the board!, i agree with you that you should look on the brightside but the film could have been alot better if it was more like the origionals, thats what weer getting at!

p.s the rating sucks! it shoulda been an 18 wiv loadsa gore and violence

p.p.s the advanced gestation is due to the preds ajusting the queens hormone quantities, so the hunt could begin quicker, not explained due to the cutting of the film to be below 2 hours for all the little shits that want too see a horro film when holywood shouda said! fuck off u little pricks with no attention span who like alien toys! weer making this film for the adult not u lil basturds!, but they did and rewined what could have been an awsome film!

I shall be seeing it on the silver screen,I don't mind shelling out £6 for the privalege(sp),infact I really enjoy going to the cinema,big carton of corn chips and foul tasting cheese or salsa dip,it's all part the fun,good film or bad it's gunna look better (and sound) on the big screen and I for one am looking forward to it...
