|

Hello everyone,
Does anyone out there know of anyplace (or anyone) where I can purchase either one of the ALIEN statuettes made by MARMIT ?
I would prefer to have the one in the "Stoop" position rather than
the "Attack" pose, but I would be happy with either one.
Thanks,
Loiterer

Wow! What a spectacular piece! I've never seen this guy before. I have no idea where to get one. But if you find a source, please drop ME an email to let me know where to get one. That model is cool as hell. Sorry that I couldn't have been more help, and thanks if you help me out. By the way, is this a prepainted and preassembled model or is it a kit? Thanks. _________________ "They mostly come at night...mostly." |

I doubt that's what he meant...
Are those online vendors in the U.K.?
Any websites?
I heard those statues are very rare and quite expensive, I think they were released quite a while ago. |

Yeah, they were very rare and expensive.
Monsters Direct is a website that used to sell them (now sold out)
and I contacted doll-hobby.com and they said that they used to have them but they are sold out as well.
Heard rumors that they may get re-released. _________________ Anybody will say anything under the influence of Madness. |

It would be interesting if they rereleased them, but I prefer action figures really. I'm weird, I still play with my toys...
Funny that that shop should have them. |

Medicom made a few different versions of the Alien for their RAH series. The one that Panzercop is referring to is the "regular" version. This figure came in three different colors: a black figure, a gray figure, and a clear figure. The black and the gray figures are fairly common, and they retail nowadays for about $110.00. Check out the "Toys and Models" section of ACH for some decent pictures of a "regular" black Medicom Alien. Medicom also made a limited edition clear version which I have seen for $130.00 to $200.00. The clear figure is numbered. Any of these toys are available at http://www.kimonomyhousetoys.com. Just type in "alien" in the search, and a bunch of stuff will pop up.
Now, the Medicom "Big Chap" is an entirely different thing. The body is the same base as the regular Medicom Alien ("G.I. Joe-style" articulation with a rubber exoskeleton). However, the Alien exoskeleton is a smokey translucent color. Also the head has a clear dome covering it, and the "skull" underneath glows in the dark. Additionally, the lower jaw is articulated, and the Alien's tongue or inner teeth can come out. It is a very cool Alien toy . You can check out a pic of the head under "Misc Alien Models" in the "Toys and Models" section of ACH. These were also of a very limited production (the one I have is numbered 1191). In my experience, this guy is RARE. I NEVER see these anywhere these days. I saw one auctioned on ebay (ONCE), and it sold for somewhere in the neighborhood of $280.00. As I mentioned previously, when I saw the pristine condition of the figure from Art of Toy, I promptly ordered another one.
So, if anyone knows where to get one cheaper than Art of Toy, let me know. Hell, I already dropped over $600.00 on two of these buggers. _________________ "They mostly come at night...mostly." |

Thanks for clearing that up, and yes, you certainly are a dedicated collector.
Cool stuff on that website. |

ACH is the abbreviation of Alien Collectors Homeworld (this site). _________________ "They mostly come at night...mostly." |
